Wish I could help you more, but I have no idea what kp is. You might try wiping the system cache partition to clear out any leftover temporary system junk: Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 4 | T-Mobile Support

No. As long as you select wipe cache partition (and NOT "wipe data/factory reset"), you won't lose any personal data.

Correct. The system cache partition stores temporary system data, but no important personal data like personal files or settings. After wiping the cache partition, the device will look exactly the same--hopefully, it will act a little better. Again, make sure you wipe the cache partition--DO NOT wipe data/factory reset.

kp probably stands for kaiser permanente. it has been very buggy lately.
