Lag!!

S22 ultra is still setting up for me. VERY early impressions....I'm not too impressed to be honest, in fact I do feel like the S21 ultra is a bit better and smoother. Again apps are still installing but even launching apps is faster on the S21 ultra and it just feels smoother all around.

Edit: Everything Snapdragon US

It would be nice if people include which variant they have... Exynos or Qualcomm to see if it can be chip specific.

Just edited mine, it’s snapdragon

Cool :) Will be helpful in these discussion as far as lag, shutter lag, video issues, battery life to see if there are any differences between the two chipsets or issue found related to one more than the other.

Agreed

Well I had lag for a couple of hours on mine today but it has settled down now and is nice and fast now. Snapdragon version.

Oof that's not good to hear. Is there a day 1 update that's supposed to come out?

Try restarting it or factory resisting it if it continues. Definitely should not have that sort of behaviour for a brand new phone.

Got my S22 Ultra 512Gb Snapdragon today and zero lag, not even during the initial setup while it was downloading and updating apps in the background. Seems slightly smoother and more responsive than the S21 Ultra. I'm happy with it so far and haven't ran into any showstoppers.

I am seeing the scroll lag thing others are talking about too, vertical scrolling stutters quite often.

I get that with the fold 3 every once in a while. I think it's that adaptive 120 speed deal. I wish I could just set it at 120 and that's what it stays at

Flashback to my comments on the P6P thread...the mayhem ensues. Camera issues and lag. Mine should be delivered today and looking forward to that great $1200 experience.

I guess I'll see what my personal experience is if and when the phone arrives. I would have gone with the Pixel except for the bugs (and yes, there were bugs). Maybe the S22 will have as many and if so, it will be returned and I'll stay with my tried and working 4XL.

The mobile data problem noted worries me. From what I have read on the X65 modem that should not be.

Coming to the conclusion that there is not the perfect droid out there. Pixel 6 Pro is so good in so many ways but the FPS is annoying and the battery drops like a stone when used off of wifi. Convinced there is an issue with either the radio or tensor chip. The camera though for most things is I think the best there is (on a phone)

The S22U is maybe better and slicker overall and you'd hope the lag will get fixed but cannot assume it will I guess.

Keep us posted on when you get it and how you are liking it!

Very true. No phone is perfect.

The lag seems to have settled a bit, still not has slick as I would expect though, the stuttery scrolling is still there. Have also hit another isasue with the screen turning off in use, only seen it when browsing in chrome so far but really annoying.

If it wasn't for the trade in amount, and other incentives I would have probably returned it by now.

I got the S22 Ultra yesterday evening (US Snapdragon) and haven't seen any lag or stuttering in my usage. Been using heavily from yesterday evening, granted it's less than a day but at least my initial experience has been great without any lag. Just to note I set up my device fresh and didn't restore from backup, I do that with my new phones so that I can leave out some of the apps I no longer use etc. But that shouldn't matter, just wanted to add a note about that since that's how I setup mine.
