All of a sudden, without downloading any new apps, my n10 is extremely laggy!
Anyone else having this issue?

If I have to do a hard reset to try to fix, is there any way to backup my app layout to restore after reset?

I would look at clearing the cache by rebooting into recovery. Double check this, but try powering down and to reboot hold volume up and power until you see the opening logos.

Would the cache be cleared as well by using an app such as "clean master"?

It looks like Clean Master would do the trick, yes. Just make sure you don't select options that would clear data or uninstall the app as well, because it includes that functionality as well.

Also, make sure to check out your Currents app to make sure the background sync option is disabled. That's been a big one as of late for weird lag issues.

I don't think Clean Master gets the same cache as clearing it thorough recovery. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I look at it this way, it doesn't hurt to try, and doing this procedure isn't like doing a factory reset.

I use Clean MAster myself ans it is a great app.

I would use recovery to wipe cache and dalvik. Then fix permissions before rebooting.
