On a Daily basis, I use my phone to tether. But for some reason today, my laptop wont recognize that there's a phone plugged up, it just tries to locate some driver. Also, my phone doesn't recognize that it's plugged to a USB either. I dont have the option to mount as USB or anything. Help?

Try the Teather app in the Amazon appstore. It works like a mifi and a USB tether, I use MIFI. Google did away with tether aps in their market in response to the carriers concerns.

If you're using BACKside, as a test, does the portable WiFi hotspot function work? I never tried the USB tethering function. From the Help screen: "You can't mount your phone's SD card on your computer when USB tethered." Tried another USB cable? Maybe reboot phone?

I use the EasyTether app. I got it before I was rooted. I think it's this particular laptop's fault because it's the only one that wont connect to the portable hotspot either. But for it to randomly stop recognizing my device is weird

device manager, remove all traces of LG phone. reconnect phone and let windows find proper drivers.

this happens sometimes, something gets rejiggered and windows forgets how to talk to the phone.
