My corp. account requires me to put in a pin # each time the phone goes to sleep, and freaking 2.1 wipes the phone after 3 missed attempts, even though my IT policy allows unlimited attempts.

Question: Is there a way to get a large # pad to show up instead of the default keyboard where i must touch shift, hope i don't miss click the pin on the little tiny # pad and slide the lock thing.

Something similar to the BIG # pad that comes up every time I start my iPod Touch.

OS ver 2.1 DL09 Rooted, Debloated, Debinged, and LP Pro Plus w/ SWYPE KB

Crakedparrot, I would recommend checking out Better Keyboard. It's not the most attractive thing on the planet, but there is a button on the keyboard to pull up a full num-pad.

If you use swype, and watch the tutorials it mentions that you can swype from the swype key to the f key (also #5) it pops up a full number pad, which I use for all of my numerical entry with minimal errors.

holy crap. I came here to post this EXACT same thread. I posted it in Android Applications first and didn't get much help.

Have you tried either of the solutions presented? Do you like Better Keyboard?

I'd like to find a keyboard that defaults to the large number pad on the lock screen and possibly gets rid of the extraneous keys (just on the lock screen)

I'm interested to know more about the disabling the lock with the long press shut down.

Please tell me more.....I need a work around and don't care if there is a security lock or not, but my IT dept does.

what they don't know won't hurt them ;)

Thanks! You da, insert appropriate gender here :)

I guess i should look at the tutorials.

Ya, you should google swype tutorial videos, and check out the ones on the swype site. It's the most powerful no tinkering keyboard available IMO. My favorite part is touch and hold to get the alternate character though. I hate flipping keyboards like the SYM key just to get the @ sign and stuff like that.
