Latest U.S build?

I pay for 50mb and that's what I now get, I only use 2.4 on all my devices.

you mean 50 MB speeds , NOT GB..
and yes, obviously you only can use 2.4ghz speed on this tablet

People want to use 5 ghz, since its twice as fast as 2.4, but for some reason, the USA firmware doesnt allow us to use 5 GHZ, even though the tablet is capable of it

Yes 50mb, reason I use 2.4 is because of the distance it goes in my house compared to the 5. Now my M3 is getting 50mb up and down where before on the old router I was barely getting 25mb, but the pixel right alongside it was getting the 50.

I contacted Huawei to ask about the old security patch level on the M3 and afraid the response wasn't very positive. The contradiction between their two statements is classic!

Thank you for contacting Huawei Ireland Customer Care Team.

Regarding your query, we understand your concern for the security matters, but we can assure you that cyber security and privacy protection are at the core of Huawei’s interest. At the moment there are no updates plan for the device, but you can keep an eye on PSIRT for security queries.

We trust the above information is of assistance to you. However, should you have any further queries, Please do not hesitate to get back in touch.

The update checker was a non-starter for me until I used it with firmware finder and bypassed having to use a micro+SD card in order to upgrade to EMUI 5. First, I picked the 2.5gb file option within firmware finder which is basically EMUI 5, picked the get an update using dns beta option. Added the dns address that firmware finder provided to my wifi settings by holding down your wifi, choosing modify network, tick advanced options, change settings to static, and then change the dns to the one provided by firmware finder. From there, it downloaded the file, but once finished it passed it on to Huawei's upgrader app and it took over from there. Just remember to remove the dns address from your wifi settings when finished. As I mentioned didn't need to use a SD card and once finished, checked the Huawei updator again and there was another small update available. I thought it was the easiest way to upgrade without having to do too many steps. Once the file was passed on to the Huawei upgrader, it did all the work.

How do you "pass" the file over to the native updater app? I can view it using the files app under internal storage > HWFF > 88572 > update.zip or update_data_full_hw_usa.zip .... I have both files. How do I move them or where do I move them for the updater to be able to read them? Very confusing.

** edit i figured out how to move the file but have no idea where to move it to.
