Hi all!

I have gotten tons of great input on this forum so far and I pose you all with another question. I have had ADW launcher for a while and love it, tried LauncherPro, GO and Zeam and this is my launcher for now...

Anyways, I have obviously noticed battery loss so I am wondering what I can do to limit what Touchwhiz uses for resources etc. while running in behind ADW. I don't want to root until possibly after the update but lets ignore talking 'bout Froyo here heard enough everywhere else sure you have too :p but I am hoping there is a way to do this. Thanks so much guys!

well first question i would ask is if you made sure to close out all the widgets on the TW launcher , because even though you see the 3rd party launcher only, TW is still simultaniously running inthe background

After doing some research Yes I discovered this to be a great idea and went ahead and did so

i wasnt sure about rooting at first either. but now that i have i wont EVER go back to using a stock phone. the phone i have now is not the phone i bought. it is WAY better. rooting is so much easier than i thought it would be. i didnt study half as much as i should have and i was very much underprepared. i bricked my phone atleast 5 times. turns bricking isnt that bad. after crapping my pants, i got myself together, studied up and fixed my phone. the guys on AC are great, we have all been at the newb stage(dont let the "android pro" rating fool you i have only been doing this about a month), so we know what you are going through, and usually eager to help. once you get cwm going and download the proper files you can go back to stock in about 3 minutes. oh yeah, you can get rid of touch wiz completely. most of the new kernels are great on battery. and there are programs like set cpu the will help even more. after using my phone all day, wifi on and off, bluetooth, gps a couple of times, i went to bed with 63% battery.
