Launcher?

Didn't see it mentioned above, or if it was I missed it ... but with the Good Lock home module can you change how the app draw scrolls? That's probably my biggest gripe with Samsung's stock launcher ... horizon app draw pages!

Not mentioned, there is no such option ... just a horizontal scroll ..

Your choice....
I'll likely rock stock for a while as I like to keep my new phones as close to stock as possible for a good while to rule out any 3rd party shenanigans ... Who knows, maybe the horizontal pages will grow on me.

Yup,who knows, anything is possible ... but as i wrote before, Nova is for me "rock stock" as a launcher....and so it will probably remain for a long, long time...

We shall see ..I've been running the Samsung stock launcher on my Fold 3 and it's not bad ..but still has a ways to go .. but now with a slab phone I will probably go to Nova which is my preferred launcher ...

Every time this kind of question resurfaces I always think the same, it all depends on which features you value more in your launcher.

If you just want a launcher that lets you increase your grid, apply custom icons and such basic stuff then most stock launchers will do the trick these days. Specially with Samsung devices that have Good Lock, modules and whatnot. Now, if you value other things like gestures, alphabetical home screen icons, swipe gestures on icons, backups between devices and brands, labels customisation and a myriad of such personal things then better stick with your custom launcher of choice.

The only price using a custom launcher after Android 10 is that, depending on your brand, navigation gestures could be not so fluid. Sometimes :)

Oh, forgot about that. Unless you have a folded device and then things get a bit more complicated.

I use nova on fold 3. It works good, main issue is the icons are delayed when opening the inside screen. I found a work around for that. Just have to go-to nova settings, change the icons to stock, then go back and change icons to your choice of icons. I have to do this every other day or three days. It's a pain, but worth it to me to have my nova features. It takes 15 seconds to do it.

In many cases that delay is caused by an outdated icon pack not fully compatible with folded devices. See in the Play Store if yours has been updated recently.

The icon pack I'm using now is outdated. I changed to a new icon pack that does get updated and both do it. I don't use the stock icons, who knows, maybe the stock will delay also on nova. Maybe I'm just refreshing it by doing the change over like that. All I know is it fixes it for a couple days or so.

Well, like I said, with folded devices things can get a bit more complicated :)

I'm a big Nova Prime user, but I've been using my S22U on OneUI so far. I'm happier with it than I expected, after diving into Good Lock and related apps. The default grids are too large for my liking so it was a must.

The things I don't love...

1. Notifications are numbers or a dot, vs. Nova showing me visual representation (like the contact's icon/photo).
2. No gestures on home icons or docked icons, like how swiping up texted one person or down texted another, or launching visual voicemail swiping on the phone, etc. I used that constantly.
3. No scroll on the dock, I liked hiding the apps people don't need to see. LOL... like my secure folder, so it's very handy but not in plain sight.
4. I somewhat miss gestures on the home screen as well, but the swipe left for Google replaces one of my main uses so this is liveable.
5. App drawer! Although I found how to change it to vertically scroll, then I had to back out of it which was clunky/annoying. I also miss the tabs in the app drawer but am trying to just use folders again to help dodge both of these.
6. Icon packs. I found the ones in the Play store are better than Galaxy themes, but I can't apply them without a launcher. I miss my Flat Circle pack. Way more consistent and I prefer the shape. Plus I could hide text on the home screens, it's so clean.
7. Another small thing, but overlapping widgets and the ability to resize to your hearts content is handy when something has wasted space and I wish OneUI supported it (like making my weather purely show the temp and weather icon, I can't get it to do that now).

All of that said, I'm not bailing yet but do expect I'll end up back on Nova Prime.

I still expect to go back. Oddly, swipe actions on icons and those badges being more specific may be what I miss the most.

Thanks for the icon tip!!

Good to see this option with the theme park, but in practice it's still not as clean as how Nova handles the ones lacking icon pack images.

I also just realized long pressing Google messages brings up recent chat threads. So as long as my favorites are recent enough, I can quickly open their chat. Not so bad.

I'm using Nova. I wanted to use One UI because its become way better than TouchWiz, but I don't like that when you encrease the grid size everything gets smaller. With Nova that doesn't happen.
