Launcher?

I stuck with Nova. I also wanted to use One UI but not being able to infinitely resize widgets was a deal breaker for me.

I'll likely rock stock for a while as I like to keep my new phones as close to stock as possible for a good while to rule out any 3rd party shenanigans ... Who knows, maybe the horizontal pages will grow on me.

Horizontal scrolling will never grow on me! Plus, I own a lot of third party icon packs. I have just used Nova Prime for so many years now on all my Android phones it feels like "stock" to me. I have been using it for a week now on S22 Ultra with no problem.

My S22U is using Nova. Not gonna change what isn't broken...

So with that im using my S20U for OneUI since it's just a home gadget now.

Getting used to it. Might try doing more with Good Locks. See what goodies I can change.

Also might download other launchers too since it been a really long time since I've tried anything other than Nova.

Nova Prime + Button Nav (souped up with NavStar) + One-hand Operation plus = Power

My problem with custom launchers and the Note series has always been that you lose some of the Spen and Note functionality when you use a launcher .

Can you be more specific, please? I haven't found any loss of functionality but I'd like to know what I should be aware of.

Microsoft Launcher. Love it and used it on my last 3 Galaxies and Galaxy Tabs. Very uninstrusive and nice compliment in syncing across all devices...

My only complaint with One UI was lack of Google feed, but once they added that last year haven't looked back and have no issues using One UI.

I do have Nova, Niagara, Microsoft launcher all installed to use once in a while for changing up but One UI is my primary launcher. It'll be mostly OneUI and Nova since they both have Google feed. Niagara and Microsoft can't use more than a day since without Google feed they are useless to me. And yes I have no issues with Google feed, it shows pretty good articles/topics according to my browsing history and other online activity.

It used to do that, but not anymore. You can use the S pen functions as well as the One UI weather widget with Nova now. I've been using Nova for years on Samsung phones, not so much on Pixels. One UI is greatly improved and I don't mind it, but Nova 7 is really nice now.

The only thing I don't like about One UI is the way it spaces the widgets and app icons. It's a small thing but it just looks nicer on Nova when I can set it up the way I like. I really like that the Google feed is now available on One UI.

I used smart switch connecting my S21 to S22 Ultra and my Nova launcher layout transferred over. This is something new, and I don't know if it's Nova or a improved smart switch.

I have been using Nova Launcher Prime forever! My phone is very personalized. I also LOVE Tasker. I hope they both will work with my new S22U. Going to back up my Nova Launcher now, as a matter of fact. 😉

This is one big reason I love Nova Launcher, among many 😊

I wouldn't mind One UI if I could just scroll the app drawer verticle instead of horizontal.... I could try it for more than one day.

Using Niagara on the phone and Nova on the tablet.

So for OneUI, how to you make it so it opens to the first page instead of last page?

You can - in GoodLock HomeUp select Home screen and toggle Apps List to on.

I don't really care for it, but try it out and see what you think.

I experienced the same thing going from my note 10+ to my s21 ultra and I'm sure when I get my s22 ultra, I will restore Nova Prime settings from backup

The only reason I'm not using nova is the animation flash I get when I go to the home screen. That and having to double tap icons on the home screen sometimes. That's kept me on One UI for now as it is very responsive. Still doesn't feel like a complete thought to me though.

Oh wow, I thought it was just me. Is that animation flash a documented bug (or is it a "feature?") I started getting it with Nova 7 beta, and it's been there ever since. I can't consider other launchers because none of them come close for reasons discussed above.
