What was the work around for the LauncherPro calendar? That was my favorite widget.

Almost identical to the launcher pro widgets and its free. Also allowed me to switch to nova launcher so I could get the ICS app drawer back while keeping my home screens the same...

Nova Launcher is the most stable launcher replacement I've found so far (and works even better when flashed through recovery). It's made by TeslaCoil, they of WidgetLocker, and the updates come in pretty quick. Added bonus to flashing it is the updates get pushed right to you.

I use the stock launcher. I like it. I'm actually using as few third-party replacements as possible because I really like stock ICS.
