Launchers

I find GNL doesn't use screen space particularly well.

Well... perhaps... but it doesn't affect me much... I run custom stuff and I screw around with the screen scalling from 480dpi to 420 or 400... which shrinks things considerably. I'm in Google Now a lot, so having that ready to go, always, is nice. Yes, Now is there for all the other launchers, but the launcher IS Google Now, so it's blazing fast to launch and there's nothing quicker than a quick flick on the home screen.

If there was another launcher out there with that tight integration with Now, I'd give it a look. But with what I have loaded on my phone now, I have all the customization that you get with those launchers, so I'm not really missing out.

Was a nova prime user. Ended up switching to gnl on my Nexus.

Another Nova Prime user here. Have tried a number of others but I keep coming back to Nova. Smooth, and also big on gesture functionality. For my money and phone, nothing beats Nova...for now :-)

I don't use a luncher anymore with my nexus. I like the vanilla android better. But I use to love nova..

Still a launcher (Google Experience Launcher), just not a third party one.

You can use the Ok Google hot word with Nova, although not the swipe to left Now home screen.

Hotword detection doesn't really matter much to me... I never use it (or any other voice controls really). I got really used to that 'swipe to Now' feature.

I have Smart Launcher on my tablet and intend to put it on my phone, as well. Probably too plain for most, but I love the simplicity and the separation of apps into categories.

I use Nova Prime on my Note 3, but my Nexus 5 is good the way it is.

How? Never new that.
In Nova settings>Ok, Google>Ok, Google Hotword checkbox. But TeslaCoil does say "Google does not provide this ability to all devices or locales. If it does not work in your Google search app then it will not work in Nova Launcher either."

Wow I never even saw that setting starting at me. Works great on the note 2. Thanks
