LDAC Bluetooth audio?

Anyone else having problems playing music over bluetooth using LDAC at 990kbps / "optimized for audio quality" in developer options? Using Sony WH1000XM3 on latest firmware. All audio is choppy. Works fine bumping quality down to 660kbps. I have my phone right next to me so distance isn't an issue.

I have FLAC files stored on my phone, the issue occurs when watching YouTube or playing music locally, doesn't matter.

My Pixel 3 works perfectly.

Used mine with my m3s for the first time today.

Not with flacs but with spotify and I am getting regular dropped audio. Not sure if it is the same issue or related but could be indicative of bluetooth issues.

I'm going to try a different app and some flac files later.

Thanks for posting. I've tried all audio settings in developer options. Only when you set LDAC to best quality / 990kbps do the problems start happening. I've tried YouTube, Play Music (FLAC and mp3 stored on phone), and Amazon Music. Once I lower bitrate the choppiness immediately stops. Bluetooth seems to be working just fine in my car / solid connection.

I know of one other person in a different forum who also can reproduce the issue.

I tried messing with this last night on my S10+. I'm unable to get LDAC to work with my Sony WH1000XM3 at all. Using the sony connect app, it's telling me that I'm playing music with Aptx even though I keep switching the dev options to LDAC. If I leave dev options, it resets back to what it was originally set to, resulting in Aptx. Any thoughts?

Go into Bluetooth settings select your headphones then click the gear icon. You should then see the option to toggle LDAC on.

Saw it in another forum.
Try disabling your LOCATION (under settings pull down menu). For me (S10 exynos) if enables LDAC best quality without any issue.

I have same problem. I use Spotify and different apps for audio books. Problems with sound occurs when i am using LDAC at 990 kbps, when setting quality to 660 kbps there are no errors. My problem is that every time I reconnect my Sony WH1000XM3 headset my S10+ will turn quality back to 990 kbps and I have to reset the quality again. I am using Sony's Headphones app.

Does anybody know how to get the settings stored?

Have you tried setting it to "Best Effort (Adaptive Bit Rate)" in Developer Options, Also Sony Music Center (Not Headphone App) has a setting in Phone "Bluetooth Output Settings" that change LDAC from Prioritize Audio Quality to Prioritize Connection (Auto) That may work so that it stays on the "Best Effort (Adaptive Bit Rate)" and not the 990.

I've tried disabling Location settings, and changing Location settings so it does not scan Bluetooth to help with location. Neither does any good for me. 990 still is choppy for me most times. Sometimes I can get it to work tho'. I have an S10+ and WH-1000XM3's

Sony Music Center (Not Headphone App) change seems to help! Earlier I did change LDAC to Best effort or 660 in Developer settings, but every time I turned my headphones off and back on, settings changed back to 990, but now it seems to work after a few tests.

Thanks Gregory!

Does that mean you have to load music center each time or it retains the settings? I no longer have the headphones but was considering getting them again.

Once I set it it seemed to retain it without having to open the app again. Even after restarting the phone.

For anyone wondering how to make 990kbps LDAC working properly (without chopping) on Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (and pehaps on soplatform Samsung smarts e.g S20 Note20 etc).

While using LDAC 990kbls (best sound quality) you must turn off WIFI and turn off WIFI Scanning and BT scanning (location services settings). 2.4Ghz WIFI activity interfaces with 2.4Ghz BT thus causes choppy playback. Registered just to post this solution, as I had the same issue.
