Leaked 2.2 from August

Hi guys,

Back in August, I bit the bullet and installed the leaked version of 2.2. I understood the potential ramifications, but had specific business needs for Flash, etc. and couldn't wait. (Long story)

Anyhow, I am now ready to root, go to custom ROMs, etc. Do I need to somehow revert to 2.2 OTA or take other measures before moving forward? I have some free time now to tweak this bad boy and take it to its full potential.

I apologize if this is a duplicate topic. I have searched for threads on this topic with no luck.

Thanks in advance!

If your intention is to flash custom ROM's and such, you do not need to revert back to stock in order to begin doing so. You may have to go about a different Root process because you are on FroYo (some of the "one-click" methods do not work on FroYo and such), but other than that you can begin installing custom ROM's on your device regardless of the Firmware version you are currently running.

You can find many how-to's to rooting and ROM's in the link in my signature, and in the ROM's/Hack's forum for your specific device.

Thanks Chris. I'll certainty read those posts. I was able to find a described path to revert to 2.1 and then install 2.2 OTA. I'll type up a full report after I'm done. I really enjoy the board so far, and look forward to being a productive member of the community.
