Leaked M9 Promo Videos

Having it look like the M8 is very disappointing. Was looking forward to that other render with the speaker slits and centered camera.

The software stuff looks ok, but what's with that fourth button at the bottom? TV tuner?

Agreed that design would have been much better
And I just noticed the 4th button! Hmmm maybe for the IR Blaster (if it has one)

Yeah the M7 and M8 had IR blasters, I'd assume the M9 would too.

Seems like an awkward feature to have on navigation bar. Hope you can remove it.

If thats the M9...pass. Way to close looking to the M8...which makes me believe its not the M9.

That could easily be a early render of the phone or a placeholder and a physical dummy for the scenes that use the phone. Heck, those videos could be from before they fully locked down the design of the phone but had the internals/software pretty much ready and got some 'test' promo stuff ready. The company I work for does that often. Something tells me HTC wound't have the M9 be competently identical to the M8 except for the camera in the back, but I suppose we'll find out Sunday. It'll definitely be disappointing if it's true.

The rumored renders were truly beautiful, this design has frankly become quite boring and doesn't have the same wow effect it had a couple years ago.

I'm hoping the S6 redesign won't be as disappointing as this.

Yeah I think this design has played itself out.

Not as nice as it used to be. And especially when those evleaks renders spoiled us for design.

I'd like to think this was all some crazy, elaborate hoax on HTC's part, but I think it's legit.

Fake. Fake. Fake.

In the camera video - when the guy goes to take a pic of the girl - no black bar present at the top.

Afterwards, it is present.

Shenanigans.

I'd say that's just sloppy video editing on part of HTC rather than it being fake.

The images we see on the screen aren't real, they're images added in when editing the videos later on. When you use a camera to record a screen, you get horrible lines through it and you can't see it properly, so the video team would have just layered that image/video over the HTC's screen. Granted they did a poor job, but it's not fake.

You can see the image of the girl smiling isn't the right image on the phone. She's smiling two different ways (teeth showing in real world, no teeth on phone). Again, the image on the phone was just edited in after the video was shot for promotional purposes.

It's just sloppy video editing.

I have a feeling that the extra button on the right is to drop down the notification shade like what you can do on the G3 and now the gflex 2. Did I notice that it looked like a "T" with an arrow pointing down? Videos are gone, so I can't relook at it.

All I can say about the videos is that it has me looking forward to Sense7 and that I'm not 100% convinced they're even legit. The guy who leaked them has claimed that they were taken off the firmware on his "friend's" M9. I have never found promotional videos embedded in the firmware of my M7 or M8 but I know that there were videos the last 2 years for flagship releases. On top of that, if you just took them from the firmware how come there is no audio on the second and third videos? Maybe these are just early mock-ups used in some preliminary marketing samples. They certainly aren't finished versions ready for primetime. Narration and music are absent and the editing leaves much to be desired. I mean how long are we going to just stare at that chick staring at her phone? Even some animations in the first video look a little rough around the edges, like there would still be some editing and refinement to complete.

There are four items on the right side. From top to bottom they are:

1. Micro SD slot.
2. Volume up.
3. Volume down.
4. Power/unlock

On the left edge of the phone is the SIM card slot.
The button placement is going to mess things up for me, as I'll need to shop around for a new tripod mount.
