Anyone find any tricks to this or know the best deals out there?

Can I buy it from tmobile for full price and then cancel service postpaid and then pay to unlock and then do prepaid?

Why cancel? T-Mobile is already a pre paid carrier. You wont be locked into a contract buying the phone full price from them.

From my Sammy Galaxy S4 :D

It's illegal to unlock a cell phone in the United States now, unless it's done by the provider. I would guess AT&T wouldn't be to keen on helping you with an unlock if you screw them over like that.
If you want an unlocked S4 you are going to pay between 600 and 650 on places like ebay and craigs list.
Or you could move to Canada when unlocking is still a freedom we have here, kind of like downloading torrents :)

Least expensive and s4 do not go together.

I have a prepaid account already, I don't need 2.

So if I buy it postpaid all I do is pop in my old sim?

Then I gotta goto unlock it and an unlock vendor?

And then let the postpaid expire?

So those unlock companies are all based outside of US?

Anyway, I can't quite move to Canada right now (I do like your snowboarding mountains and healthcare) as I am finishing up some projects here in NYC.

Tmobile is selling this phone for 579... If I buy it and then pop in my tmobile prepaid sim will that work?

I should know this stuff by now but I am new to the sim card world. Former Verizon, sprint guy.

I got my i9500 on Ebay from Newegg for $575 brand new - $550 - $600 seems to be about the going rate for a fully unlocked i9500 or i9505 with no carrier bullsh*t.

Does the 9500 have the LTE for tmobile?

No - but I've been getting 6+ on AT&T, which is faster than my cable modem.

And I've never seen the i9500 lag - not once - which is a complaint I hear is common on other GS4s.

LTE is active in my area for tmobile. All I wanna do is test to see if the signal penetrate better than hspa +. If it does then I was gonna keep the phone.

Then you would want to get the i9505. It has LTE support.
