Went with black leather.

I went with black leather. It looks nice but it is slippery. Hopefully after use it will get a little rougher so I have more confidence I won't drop it.

One thing that's annoying is because of the seam running down the middle of the back the phone will rock side to side if you lay it flat and want to type on it. Obviously not a problem if it's in your hand but if it's on your desk nad you're pecking away it gets annoying fast.

Are the plastic backs flat? Would a plastic back solve this issue? I could pair it with a rubber case to give it the grip I'm looking for too.

Nope, this phone is slightly curved, so it of course won't lie flat on its back. I have the plastic back on my desk right now, and it too rocks.

I ordered one of these last night on Amazon. I got the red one. Does the phone fit in there with the back on it or do you have to take the back off?

I got the plastic back myself. I was going to get the leather but I normally use a case anyways so I figured I'll just get what Verizon had in stock.

It will fit with the leather back on the phone. I took it off because I put the phone into a holster. (I know, not cool)
