The fact that you call it a "trick" tells me that it is something outside of what is allowed by policy. It is only a matter of time before AT&T discovers and patches whatever glitch or loophole you exploited so you can't depend on it working in the future.

My statement stands... once something grand-parented in is gone it is gone.

Anything is possible, but the trick has been well known and all over the web for some time now. It is not really illegal or anything,just requires you to switch to an og iPhone then back to your current smartphone. There is a huge thread on xda about it as well

If you ask for the unlimited hotspot, it will automatically give you unlimited data on Verizon. Then you can cancel the hotspot if you like. Your unlimited data will still be intact.
