Leaving the S5 for the Note 4

Note 4 would be great and better device overall but its size doesn't work for me as phone. S5 is already pushing limit on it and I don't like to put that large plate into my pockets.

But good luck to you. Let us know how you like it compared to S5 other than size issue.

Apparently, the note edge is going to be a limited release last I heard. I'm, the note 4 is too big to use as a smart phone but I like how it's supposed to have better build quality and increased resolution.

You may want to hold off until it is out for a few weeks before making the change. You may or may not recall all the problems the Note 3 had when it was first released.. what a mess. That is the reason we went with the S5 instead.. S5 had absolutely no issues at all and we now have 4 on our plan.

Check back occasionally and see what problems folks are complaining about with the Note 4. I know some are self inflicted but some are actual issues that require Samsung to release a fix. (or 2).

Just a thought..

Dude, it's plastic. I understand that's done to keep the cost and the weight down, but.....dude, it's plastic.

I like the Note 4 but it just isn't durable enough where I work. (dust) And metal or plastic? I want my phone in a case anyway so if I drop it the damage is minimal . S5 is for me but the Note 4 is very impressive. good luck..

It mainly is .. The Note 4 just has a bigger screen and higher resolution .. And a few extra features that are common for the Note. The oIS stabilization on the camera should be nice as well.

I came to the S5 from the Note 3. Lovely bit of kit but the size proved too much of an issue in the end. Plus if you want to keep it pristine, you'll need to put it in a case which makes it even bigger. If your work/personal life can accommodate it, the Note 4 looks fantastic but I'd advise anyone thinking of getting one to consider how practical it is for them.

Plastic can be just as durable as metal. If you treat either roughly they both are likely to break.

I know it's plastic. A lot of phones are plastic. Plastic doesn't dent and it doesn't scratch as easy. The build quality on the S5 is every bit as good as the Note 4. It just has a metal ring around it for a bezel. Still mostly plastic. Not water resistant or dust resistant either so the build quality on the note 4 is not as good as the S5 really.
