Led light changed color for same app after Oreo

So I use Verizon messaging app exclusively for messages and prior to Oreo the notification light would flash green which I really liked now after Oreo it flashes blue which is the same for all of the notifications and I can't find a way to change the color, any ideas?

Mine has never flashed different colors, even though I set it up that way.

Any time I've been able to change the led color it's because there was a setting within the app itself. Nine and Textra both have settings for led color. GMail does not. I haven't seen anything in the OS itself to do that.
