LED notification for e-mail not working

The LED is not working for e-mail; not for GMail or my work e-mail (I use Touchdown for Exchange)...the LED is working for text messages, so I know it works, and yes, the box is checked. Overall, notifications (in the tray at the top of screen, notification sounds) seem to work wort of "intermittently"...is this a "known issue" with the Rezound, or with Sense (this is my first HTC phone)?
