Has anyone found a usable workaround to the LED notification timeout (of five minutes)? As bizarre as it sounds, this may be the reason I go with an S5 over an M8.

There is none. Maybe by rooting and flashing a custom rom, but don't quote on that

I'm aware there's nothing internal to Sense. I was wondering if people have found success using 3rd party notification apps.

I have to say, this is one of those WTF moments I have with developers. I just don't get the purpose of timing this out. And as I understand it, it's true of all HTC devices. Odd.

Then the answer is no, unfortunately. Like I said rooting might be able to, but you would have to do more research on that.

Thanks for the replies. Although I feel comfortable enough technically to root my phones, it's just not a headache I want.

What about something like Light Flow? Give that a try...

I agree about the 5 minute thing. The purpose light is to notify you, hence being called a notification LED.

HTC requires root access for Light Flow to work. Apparently they're adamant about their users not being notified after five minutes.

I can't figure out what everyone is talking about. My AT&T M8 doesn't stop flashing the notification. I have to clear out the notifications. If I just look at them, it still flashes. It's been doing it for 2 days because I want to keep one of my emails in the bar as a reminder.
