There's only one speaker. The "2nd" speaker is a microphone.

It's a common mistake. Even many reviewers made this mistake when the phone was released. The grill on the bottom left as you face the screen is cosmetic and covers the speaking mic rather than a second speaker. I guess LG went this route to balance the look of the bottom of the device, but it's definitely created a lot of confusion.

I hv the sprint lgg2 and there most certainly IS 2 speakers...it is not a microphone as someone has stated...it plays music,and rings out of both speakers!!!!!

There is two speakers on the sprint lgg2...both of mine do work..by work i mean i do hear music out of and when it rings u can also hear from both...i can cover one and hear the other , doing both that way..dnt know y mine has two speakers and others dnt , i cant speak for others phones,but my g2 does hv two speakers!!!!

I agree with the quoted text. I went to voice search and activated The Mic and lightly touched both grills. When I touched the left one it registered as sound when I touched the right it did not register. I did the right to confirm that just plain touching the phone does not register as sound.
