Lenovo plans to launch the Tab S8 this month for just $199. A 4G model will also come to market but Lenovo has failed to provide details as to when and how much this optional version will cost. As well as the new tablet, Lenovo is also launching new Windows PCs. See the press release below for more details.

Who plans to get this device? At $199, it sure does sound tempting. Though, I'd probably want to wait until AC gets some more hands-on time with it to see how it performs and if it'll really be something worth getting.

Any thoughts re: the price point?

Just checked it out at BestBuy and this is a front-runner for me. I had my choices down to the LG G Pad, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro but Lenovo may have a winner on its hands. I looked at a review from MobileGeeks.com and the benchmarks scored favorably. So let's see what the Nexus line comes up with.

My Nexus 7 2012 Tablet is on it's last legs (trouble with the headphone jack) so I'm eyeing the Lenovo Tab S8 as a replacement. I also checked out one at Best Buy, and it looked really good. I didn't like the Apple iPad-like UI for the app icons (i.e., no app drawer), but the hardware looked good. Best Buy only has the black model, but I'm going to wait and see if they have blue or yellow. Love the $199 price, but I'd like to read a few more substantial reviews first before pulling the trigger.

Received it today. My initial impressions are Wow! Screen is incredible, it's fast, slim, light, just amazing. Loaded up a movie and it played flawlessly. So far so good.

I'm considering this or the Asus MemoPad ME572C. Also considering the Yoga 2 which is a little bit more price wise, but looks to be identical to the S8 specs wise. Also, what's the Lollipop situation like? A couple of the sales people I chatted with on Lenovo said Lollipop was released for the S8 (and Yoga 2) but I'm not seeing that online.

I just recently bought my S8, have used it for about 7 days now. Can't get rid of the pre-loaded programs, so I sorted them into folders and left them on the last screen.

+ Very high graphics resolution and performance.
+ Fast enough to run Hearthstone.
+ Very thin and light.
+ High megapixel camera.

- Fingerprints show up easily when the unit is off (other reviews indicate a lack of oleophobic treatment)
- Very low visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

Really good tablet for the price.
