Lets get FM Radio on the Optimus S

Just an fyi but iheartradio was updated in the market and now works on our phones. Figured id let you guys know in case anyone is really dying for some clear channel radio.

WoW! That app has been borked on a lot of phones for a while now, about time clear channel fixed it!

edit.....Not sure why but its not in the market now. CM7 HTC Evo, phone shouldnt matter, perhaps its the Rom?

The phone (namely, ROM) controls what does and doesn't show in the market in accordance with what the developer has indicated is an acceptable device to use their app. The ROM has a fingerprint, that fingerprint tells the market what phone you're using and what apps to show.

You could try going to www.iheartradio.com and downloading the apk from them. Not sure which version their website installs but the updated version is 3.0.1

and that is likely his problem right there. iheartradio has probably not approved their app for GB. Thats not to say it won't work on GB though so it's certainly worth going to the site and grabbing.

OK, trying to get back to the topic. Is anyone still working on unlocking (real) FM reception on Optimus S or V?

It looks like development has stopped for this phone. It would be really cool to have fm radio enabled on this but it likely won't happen and honestly I don't think I would even use that feature that much.

I use iheart on my phone and I'm using scott pilgrim, so yes, it definitely works on our phones with GB.

iheart just uses the internet to pull streams, its not a live fm radio

ive had fm radio on a rom i forget which one i thin it was the cm7-scott pilgrim awesomeness, not sure like i said, but it just said plug your headphones in to use as recievers....

That was a leftover item from cm7, not specific for our phones, since fm radio drivers haven't been developed for us.

Do you mean it booted up, or it actually played radio for you. For me, it LOOKED like it was working, but no sound came out the headphones.
