Is there a hack to eliminate the extra step of having to tap on the check mark when unlocking phones from the lockscreen in Pie? I have a wonderful pic I don't mind seeing for that extra second, but damn, that extra split second & gesture is absolutely killing me!

I don't have to enter the check mark after my passcode... Neither do you, so long as your passcode is something like "51769✔" ;)

I don't see the point. I can hit my check mark as fast as a number so it doesn't take me anytime

I think other OEMs can set up their passcode feature to do what you’re requesting.

But Google hasn’t.

I had to look and see what you were talking about. I've used the fingerprint sensor for so long I'd forgotten. Now, when I power down my Pixel I do have to press the check when I enter the PIN but only then.

To me, that check is a security feature. If you can enter the pin without the check, it tells a would-be hacker how many digits are in your pin. With the check they have no idea how many digits in your pin.

Another thing I've discussed in another forum is periodically you'll have to type in your pin or password as it's a security feature not just restarting your device.

Before the Pixels, the lock screen on the Nexus for the Pin was like that where you didnt need the check. Its a recent security feature. iPhones still dont require it, they just unlock when you finish entering the last number. Extra step, yes...annoying, meh. 1st world problems.
