Wow! You guys use a lot. I freaked out when I hit 5gb the first time, first month I got my Note 3. I couldn't put the phone down. Lol
I'm also a bit envious that you guys are able to use that much and not have it throttled, is that the right word? Lol

Yes that's the right word :).

I just moved into a crapcast (I mean comcast) only area with the 300GB data cap. It's going to be interesting to see how things pan out as more ISPs move towards a low data cap. Right now I have offloaded every bit of entertainment data I use to my phone leaving the home Internet all for work, and I still ride that cap every month.

And one more thing, Xfinity TV Go on Verizon only is a complete scam. Partner with the most expensive wireless company, release a video service that uses about 1.5GB/hour to blow data caps, and both companies will be as happy as can be.

I barely use 500mb a month. I have unlimited with T-Mobile. I use wifi when I'm at home. I don't use wifi at work because it's super slow, but I don't stream music or movies either. If I ever do, I try to use wifi. Some months I may reach 1gb but that's pretty rare.

Wow! from London.

I thought in the past, say early noughties, the US was technically behind us here with regard to phones and primarily networks (due to regulations or something - no offence :).

This is a real eye opener.
Almeuit: 53 gb a month and you have been surpassed several times. Another did 7 gb in 8 minutes or something close.

Needless to say here I think it's different, as another UK poster attested.

I have just switched from a GS2 to a purchased N3 and have 5 months left on cheap ?10 a month plan which includes 500mb, but I can call each month and pay ?5 per 500mb bundle. So currently I'm using a high(!) 1.5 gb limit for safety.

3 thoughts:

1. How many hours do you heavy use guys spend watching the screen, when not downloading?

2. How much Data and Wifi is circulating through your brains everyday. There have been on and off health scares about this.
(Impressive network supply though!)

3. Do you have smoke coming out of your device? I reckon at that rate if the device fails after 3 months you will have got your money's worth and have nothing to complain about so just buy another one.

To the guy tethering his phone for everybody at a gigantic rate and still complaining about Verizon, (they may warrant it - I don?t know), the network police over here would have 3 swat teams outside ready to seize all your assets.
OK, one network at least here allows tethering if you're on the highest plan and pay a little extra, but they would be shocked if anyone went over 3gb.

Maybe I am behind the times by now.

Lastly, I am still on 3g, which is quicker since I got my N3; but I'm terrified of what data I may start to use on 4g due out shortly.
Time to buy out of my old plan.

Again - WOW!

I live here in the states and I'm also surprised at how much data some people use!

Oh I've used more but mine is all real usage versus downloading a retarded big file. Below is last month's usage.

Also there is no way someone downloaded a 7 GB file in 8 minutes. You would need a sustained speed of 150+ Mbit (about 15 MB a second) to achieve this and I haven't seen any mobile speeds go that fast.

I see now you posted much higher consumption.

Amazing. Just under a 100 g.

Yes, I meant to work out that rate of speed to get 8 minutes worth .

Still you must have fast data over there.

Speed and availability must vary enormously between cities and states. Surely the higher the number of users in a given cell area, the lower speed esch one gets; so high users like yourself are partly fortunate. Or does that sharing rule not apply any more.

I guess 25 gb a week is not out of the question time wise, but gosh!

Tmobile has indicated that they are theoretically capable of 139mbps which is about 8gb in 8 minutes.

Verizon is capable of similar speeds where 20x20mhz aws is deployed, but they have only proportioned up to 100mbps to aws. This is theoretical of course. I was able to sustain 48mbps on a 1gb file on a 10x10 network, outdoors.

At my house indoors I was able to use about 8gb in about 30 minutes, which is somewhere around 35mbps. This is also 10x10.

Yeah that sounds legit. Theoretical versus real world is huge though.

He was saying someone in real world said they did that.. Which would be a lie since no networks go the theoretical speed right now.

Fastest actual mobile speed test I have seen was 100mbps on Verizon 20x20mhz fdd. uploadfromtaptalk1389633816923.jpg

I'm in the US also, and don't come anywhere near the volume, nor the speed. Speed is really a separate thead, but it does depend greatly on where you are.

I'm envious of both though. I'm on an 8GB plan and have to pay attention when the end of the cycle comes around. I'd be over most of the time if I didn't.

To clear one item up. I buzzed through the first 3 pages worth here before posting.

So my memory got it a little wrong with the 7gb in 8 mins thing. I was only making general light hearted comments of astonishment though.

I found that posting again.
It was from Dphamm00 (edit coming) on my page 2. He/she actually said 8gb in 15 minutes.
However I may have read the 7gb in 8 mins further on.
It seems theoretically possible anyway.
Thanks, Numbnuts. I mean Tony.
