Any idea why a picture taken in 12mp mode is larger than a picture taken in 50mp pro mode?

Very good to know only because it is quite a bit farther north (and west) from me. Although Central NY has been known to get snow this early and as late as July.

The size of the 50mp image is smaller than I'd expect. The second one has multiple shots you can pick from to show, so that makes it larger than a single 12mp image. It doesn't have the motion photo extension, so I'm not sure if that's what it is, or just a multi-shot image.

Not to mention I am nestled up to the mountains here, so weather is at best, unpredictable. We do get Chinooks in the winter though.
It can go from -20c to +15c in a matter of hours. Some call them ,The Snow Eaters.

That's got to be it. I took two more similar shots, and I took one in a standard 12mp mode, and the other was 50mp RAW, and the 12mp was still larger due to topshot. I think that's a little strange that there has been a lot of people warning against taking 50mp raw pictures, when actually, taking standard pics with topshot on takes up way more space.

Although to be fair, 5-7mb per picture doesn't seem like a lot when I have 2tb of cloud storage.

Nevermind. When you take a 50mp raw pictures, there are two versions. It creates a jpeg of the image, which is the smaller image, then the raw is a lot bigger.

Yes it is a Christmas tree. I ordered it and it arrived a couple of days ago. Cat friendly. I love the colours. Probably going to take it down in a bit. But it looks so pretty.

Low light. Used unblur and dynamic enhance but it brought out the detail. Black cats are hard to photograph in low light.
