Lets talk skins and screen protectors

I have been fairly outspoken about my opposition to screen protectors. for the most part they do nothing but ugly up your phone by adding weird textures, collecting dust, etc. however, one of my biggest pet peeves with my dinc is how oily the screen has gotten. So that said I'm trying to find one that fits my needs, and any help would be appreciated.

I've used phantom skinz, and while they had very little orange peel, it was still somewhat sticky. I will probably go for best skins ever this time since they sell a skin that doesn't include a screen protector. if you know any other brands that do that, let me know. I definitely want to put some protection on my gnex because it is made of plastic, after all.

The reason I don't want to include a screen protector is that I hate orange peel. I would get the Steinheil oleophobic (if i spelled that right) screen protector because it seems like exactly what I want, except it doesn't cover the screen fully. according to SGP this is because a DRY application will cause bubbles on the edge of the curved screen. this doesn't make sense, since the protector should be flexible enough to follow that gentle curve. So that means I need a wet install, i guess. but I also want one that isn't made of the same material as invisible sheild. I don't really care if it is less durable, as long as its smooth to the touch.

tl;dr Know of any wet install screen protectors that have ZERO orange peel and/or are made of a different material?

Dude, I know what you mean. I HATE the orange peel and stickiness. I posted a thread about this. http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...39137-xo-skins-shipped-yesterday-morning.html

XO Skins dont have the orange peel and they hide fingerprints really well. I have my protector here already, but still don't have my nexus. Here is their video so you can see what I mean.

Awesome, I looked at them but i was skeptical about the 'no orange peel' but since you have one and say they are smooth, I went ahead and bought one.

I also got mine for less than 10 bucks (even with shipping) using their cyber monday coupon code, which still works: cyberxo2011

As I just informed Zagg, I am suggesting avoiding Invisi-shield. I called a local reseller about the phone and they said they had the protector for it. I drive 20 minutes across Tampa just to find out that they won't have it but will order it for me to pick it up next Friday, telling me to brave a shopping mall 2 days before Christmas. Not to sound like I'm whining but a company that treats customers like that, more than once might I add, does not deserve our business.

Anyone have a rec for a full-screen static-cling version (if it works on the Nexus' curve) - I prefer that to the screen protectors that need a spray.

I like the Power Support one I have for the ipod but they don't make non-Apple screen protectors, although I might be willing to buy an ipad version and cut it to size!

The 2.32 was only for my screen. When I get home tonight and get my list from the misses im gunna order some more for presents so we will see. I am also in the US. Are you international?

Has anyone put a skin on their GN that was intended for the GSM version? I bought the one from best skins ever, but i'm curious if it will fit since the LTE version is a tad thicker. I guess they can be stretched so it shouldn't be a problem, and either way its only like half a millimeter difference.
the instructions also say to dry apply to the battery cover, because of the texture.

I also got my XO skin, and was very impressed that there was no orange peel as advertised. The skin i got from BSE was also very smooth, though it still has a *tiny* bit of orange peel, it took me a minute to notice it.

I hope SGP makes an all glass screen protector like they did for the Galaxy S2.

This is probably the only thing I would put on the GN. I tried 4-5 different screen protectors for my OG Dorid, but found myself hating all of them after a week or 2.

I cant seem to apply any of these things without getting the bubbles. Once one of you does this can you report back if you were able to do it bubble free.
