Like what the previous guy said. Just take it back and get it exchanged.

Omg!!! It's not engraved!!!!!!!!!!!!. Wow man so hard headed...I have a one from AT&T and my letters are definitely engraved, no glue. If anything like that went wrong with my phone though, I would exchange it.
That's a problem. They are all out of stock or have not received their first shipment. I traveled 30 miles to get mine and now they are out of stock...
Thanks for complementing my glue handeling skills, but you guys aren't upset at this? I sure am...
Stop telling me what I have in my hands. The letters are not engraved... It's the one. They are stickers nothing more.

oh my stars.... I went to the Burlington mall to pick mine up. My brother and friends were there to whiteness the C falling off. Don't tell me I'm wrong because you are to proud to admit HTC f'ed up. Grab a blow dryer and test your theory of it being engraved if you're so sure buddy.Either you are trolling or you don't have a legit device. My HTC One has the HTC One letters all Engraved! I recommend returning it and exchanging it for the real deal.
As long as you get one in exchange that is fine, I wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't have glued it like that; I would have taken it into the store to show them. You can't tell because of the lighting, but it did fall off. Look closely. You been duped
The letter "C" on the back of my one fell off so randomly. I had to superglue it back on. It's so distracting now because I can tell the C is out of place.... So disappointed.
I called them, they know that I glued it. It's cool. They said when they receive the next shipment they will contact me.
Why would this be upsetting?
Why does it matter?
What did the surface under the letters look like? were they well finished or would taking out all the letters look bad?
I can't believe the responses to this thread. Op proved he has an authentic HTC one and people are still going over the top to bash it or undermine him. It doesn't matter how insignificant the defect is, it is there, and for a product praised for its build quality, it needs to measure up to those standards. He paid a premium price for the phone, and has every right to be upset about this. You would be mad if you bought a new car and the paint started chipping, or the tint peeling, right? Its just cosmetic, but its principal. Op, even though it looks like you glued it in quite spectacularly, I understand that once you notice a blemish, it stands out even more. I hope that they get you a new device in a timely manner and that it is free of defects.

True, a little funny how people want to claim theirs are not glued in, and that since his are, his must be fake.
But, I think he did think that we should be upset that the letters are glued in and not somehow milled from the aluminum billet and polished in place. I think that is asking a bit much myself.
I am disappointed to learn that the surface under the letters is not finished, but perhaps they will never fall out and it wont be an issue.
