Letters scrambled up in icon titles?

In the titles under icons in both the home screen and the app drawer, sometimes the characters become mixed up, overlapping and just not right or readable. This happens also happens with my sense analog widget. If I start an app and go back to the home screen, it corrects it. This seems to happen mostly when the phone is inactive for awhile. Running stock ICS, unrooted. Why is this, and can I fix it?
