LG a Leader!!

Not saying your test was wrong but it seems odd to me that G2 is that much better than others. At my Verizon store, G2 was similar to Moto X, M8 and S5 had the best signal. Better than G2 by about 5~6dbm.

Are you sure you looked at 4G signal strength on G2? Remember LG phones display two signal strengths, 1X voice and 4G data separately. Usually 1X strength is much higher than 4G.

Yes, I did notice the dual dBm on the LG G2 and used the 4G marker. I'm not falsifying any of my data. Yes, -85 dBm on the Galaxy S4 compard to -60 dBm on the LG G2 is quite an improvement leap, but those were the actual results. LG G2 in one hand, Galaxy S4 in the other. Phones held approximately 8" apart. G2 produced a -25 dBm improvement over the S4. Signal strength inside the store was good, not excellent.

Tests aren't designed to placate to an audience, they're intended to produce raw data that I consider to be useful in the decision making process of purchasing a phone. LG simply beat out the competition. The next time I'm in a Verizon store, I will pair up the G2 against a Motorola. Results should be interesting.

But you haven't produced any evidence.... all hearsay no pics or screen shots ... Someone who is a theoretical physicist would have said evidence

I'm just really confused about the entire point of this thread. -__-

Nope. I think you lost all of us when you said the S4 had better signal. Next you'll have us on about the S4 Mini being the bee's knees.

You can believe whatever you want. I am just telling you what I saw. I don't care whether you believe me or not. I really liked the G2 and wanted it to work, but it didn't. I never had any problems with my S4 on AT&T as far as signal was concerned. Look around the web. There are a lot of reviews for the G2 noting fair reception at best and poor call quality. The same thing is noted for the Flex, although I never tried it. I hope the G3 is better.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was educating an audience requiring empirical evidence via screen shots... Especially given a seven minute window. If you read my post, I didn't even have time to make it to the M8. And don't tell me how a theoretical physicist does their job. We generate original ideas, hence the root word "theory," and produce evidence through rigorous mathematical proof, not screen shots... Here's an idea. How about you go to a Verizon store and do your own [language removed by Mod] research if you're unhappy with my conclusions. What reason do I have to falsify data? Either take my information at face value or be delusional and think I'm involved in an LG conspiracy.

G2 doing worse than others in one store and doing best in another store is somewhat unlikely but not impossible.
Looking at dbm or bars in the store is not ultimate test of the phone reception. It only provides one sample of data at your location. Or the phones on display could have some issues. If you or someone saw phone A has better signal than phone B at some store and you bought phone A, it doesn't guarantee you will have better reception on phone A than phone B everywhere you go. I always take someone's signal testing at store with grain of salt. Only thing that matters is how it works for me where I live, go.

I will say this.

I never bother to check any other performance metrics on a phone or tablet until I know the current on-time is 72 hours or less. I have found devices, especially tablets with over 1000 hours since last boot. They tend to perform poorly.

My final thoughts.. I hope were done flaunting our " level of education " in this thread/forum. I'm sure most can agree nobody likes having a degree waved in their face and expect to be granted respect because of it.

Not knocking anyone for having a higher level of education but last I remember its also common respect you don't shove it down anyone's throat just to one up somebody in a discussion.

Carry on.

Gentlemen. Did it occur to you that we as humans are arguing over a stupid piece of electronic filled plastic?? Really??? I guess we don't have anything better to do with our time than anxiously rub our hands together waiting for the next best thing...there was something exciting playing with a friend with two cans and a string and hearing their voice.

Yep, but they argued about Campbell's soup cans being better than sardine cans back then

As you said, you're in a small town. People that live in big places, for instance myself , in NY, could definitely face issues.

But the issues you face would be congestion on the network which wouldn't necessarily correlate to being a signal issue with the device.

I compared the G2 in the same locations with the same sim card with the Moto X, the HTC One, the S4, the Notes 2 and 3 and the 5s (yes, I owned all of them at the time -- I am an ***** that way) and the G2 was consistently several db lower than all of them. It also had a tougher time maintaining an LTE signal and could not make calls or download at fringe places where the others could. Its signal bounced around a ton compared to the others, too.

I strongly disagree..since having my G2 I now stay connected to calls in the same area my Samsung galaxy would drop them. Lg radios I place right up there with Motorola's. None of the Samsung devices you mention topple the G2 radio nor does the 5s. I am sure the Moto X would be competitive and I have never used the HTC One to make an informative comment.

Only thing LG leads in is pushing phones with no plan on future support for newer os updates.

AMEN Murph! I'm educated as a Chiropractic Physician and just about any physician is well educated in the scientific process. I'd be stretching the truth if I called myself a"scientist". But if lamebrains don't want to accept your data, so be it. I have never understand why some of us have become even more paranoid (or delusional) on internet forums than they were before the WWW. Now all I have to do now to cash in, is earn a PhD in psychology and apply for a huge governmental grant to study this phenomenon.

I rock an OptimusGpro, out performs the note2 in almost every benchmark test. Its still got 4.1 on it yet still buttery smooth. Yet no update for my phone. Must be nice if you have a g2, I don't and didn't ask about it. There's my "another".
