LG G2: GPS stopped working & possible update soon

When i first got my G2 the GPS worked perfectly. Then it started to fade in and out. Now im getting zero signals while using maps or any satellite app analyzer.
I tried taking it to verizon and they said they will replace my phone with a used model or wait to Jan 2 for a new 4.4 update (thats good news)
I tried factory default resetting my phone. But that didnt work either. I really therefore doubt its a software problem.
Any fixes? And any way i can get a new replacement phone, or my old one back if i return it to be repaired?
Hate to get a scratched up phone that would hurt the resale price of my phone

Sorry to hear of your GPS troubles, but VERY skeptical of a Jan 2 4.4 update...

ya thats what they told me.
im guessing hardware issue. So how can i get a new G2 from verizon. Feels a bit unfair that i must get a used one when mine breaks

If you're within your return period the have to replace for a new device. I hope you have their insurance plan too??

So i got a manufacturer guarantee in affect. They shipped me a new LG G2 phone. Sure enough that GPS aint working too. Which is weird b/c G2 GPS issues arent really a reported problem and I live in Miami which is a area with great phone service. So seems that neither the area or the hardware should be the problem

I had the GPS lock issue too. But, after receiving the 12B update, and a reset, I noticed by default that the GPS is turned off from the manufacturer. There is no option to turn it on either while doing the activation setup. It's not until you get to the home screen that you can turn it on. Instead, by default, it relies on using the WIFI location and while needing driving directions, it then wants to use the standalone GPS in conjunction. I wonder what this means. In any case, I've not turned on the GPS since the update and have had no problem getting location lock. OF course I live in NYC so there are tons of WIFI locations it can draw from. This probably wont be that helpful if you live outside a city.

Ya while i do live in Miami wifi access points are seperated by a good distance.
I got my third G2. This time the GPS worked in matter of seconds, even after update. But two weeks later its not working again.

How do you turn on the GPS now that the GPS icon is the notification drop-down is not available??
