Will work with my sprint account. I'm on my dads family plan.

It should, but ask the seller for the IMEI number (the decimal version if he gives you both decimal and hex), and ask Sprint. If it's been reported stolen (he pays a few bucks to get a new one), or there's still an unpaid Sprint bill, they won't accept it.
