LG G3 - Battery problems

The LG G3 uses battery power like the ghosts attack Pac-Man! A fully-charged battery will die after 20 photos and that's without posting. I keep the LCD dark which means I can hardly see the LCD in the sunlight. I only have the phone since February. I had to order a new battery as constantly charging the battery means it won't hold the charge. To add to my misery, the phone often turns the screen on by itself which also drains the power. A fully-charged battery will go from 99% down to 79% in just a few minutes. My old iPhone had a battery lasting all day while the G3 lasts an hour or two. The screen is beautiful but is useless when there's no power.

It sounds like you are having some software issues that could be corrected with a factory reset. have you ever done this with your phone?

If you have, there could be a more serious hardware defect with the phone.

I've had my G3 since last August and I agree. The battery life is below average. I had an HTC EVO 4G LTE from Sprint and the battery life was great. I should've stuck with HTC and purchased the M8.

I did a factory reset after the Lollipop update and it's still not very good. I haven't experienced any other abnormalities so I don't believe it's a battery issue.

You guys must have some rogue apps or in a bad service area or a lemon. My battery life is staggering on since 6am and at10pm at night I have 60% left with light use 2 hours screen on time. I don't have garbage like Facebook app sucking down the battery.

A factory reset means that all my data will be gone? Is this correct? Unlike my iPhone, which backs-up into my PC simply by connecting the plug to iTunes, LG offers no such advantage. The battery problems started from Day 1 when I found myself charging the phone almost day and night. Not only does a fully-charged battery die right away, I often find the phone heating-up in my pocket while turned-off although it seems to turn on by itself very often. Taking photos is no pleasure as well, as there is a shutter lag of from 5 to 10 seconds after pressing. The internet part is excellent and fast with lots of memory and quickly goes to the desired website unlike my PC, which takes 5 minutes to go online.

If I do a factory reset, won't everything on my phone get deleted; including all photos, apps, texts. emails, etc. I can't chance it so I walk around with 3 extra batteries & keep changing after taking 20 photos or more. It seems that the photos drain the battery extensively. Shame since the phone has such a beautiful display.

If you have a sdcard... You can move all your pics in there and try to use a service like google or microsoft onedrive to backup your photos online.
