AC Question

Hello!

I have an lg g3 (D855) and am stuck on version 5.0 and am not reciving any updates even doe i should of have gotten a android 6.0 (marshmallow) a couple of months ago.
If anybody has a solution i would be thankful :).

Thanks.

Mine is on Lollipop too. You can if you wish try downloading the latest firmware manually. Check LG's website.

If you're doing to update using your PC, then you have to download the LG driver. The update is just a single file. You may also have to download LG's ROM installation program. (Or the update may come in a form that can be installed from an SD card. LG sometimes has more than one way of doing things. For instance, their ROMS [if you want to reflash the entire ROM] come in 2 file formats, and each one takes a different LG installation program.)

Remember, though - if your carrier hasn't written a modification to allow Marshmallow to run on the 855, there isn't one. Both LG and the carrier normally have to modify the stock Google version of a ROM to run in a particular phone.

Rukbat i know they have to modify it but i do know that for the D855 there is a version in the EU since 2016 and the latest that should arrive was in fall of 2017.

I ought to say that I haven't done it with mine. Lollipop is running well on it and I see no great advantage in Marshmallow.

The only ways of updating it are finding a ROM for your model phone of the version you want, or downloading an AOSP (stock Android) ROM and modifying it to run on your phone.
