Android Central Question

i got this phone from ebay and they sold it as a g6 but in the about phone it says us990 and on the back of the phone under the back cover looking at the camera area i see d851 us990 1029 0806. so it must be the g3.

anyway when i try to turn it on it shows lg and then goes black and then lg and then black all day long. if i plug it in i may get it to start and then maybe not. it says battery battery charging sometimes 505 then 30% maybe 80% just pick a number it is all over.

i think it has a bad battery so i got another one coming. but my question is this will a bad battery make it start p completely and then just go off. sometimes it is running as i have it on the radar to make it work and then it may turn off or not. temperamental. so will a bad battery make it do all this.

also i notice the back cover has 2 pins that connect to the battery area and the cover has some kind of tape on it that i can see traces inside it is this the antenna or maybe a charger so i can lay in on a pad to recharge and not have to plug it in? the way it is laid out makes me think it is some kind of antenna but all the other phones i have do not have this on the back cover. thanks

From your description, it sounds like you were sent a piece of junk. Did it cost more than sixpence? If so, I don’t see why you’d want to keep it, let alone gamble more money on it.

That stuff on the cover sounds like a wireless charging receiver.

A bad battery? All bets are off - anything could happen. But the phone is definitely a G3. Unless it was VERY cheap, I'd contact the seller for a refund (and a shipping label or money to **** it back). If you don't get anywhere with that (you probably won't), contact eBay and let them know that it was advertised as a working G6 but it's a non-working G3, and the seller won't take it back for a refund. (That's why I sell phones locally only - the buyer knows what he's getting, who I am, and the carrier lists the phone as being his - because he pays and I hand over the phone at the carrier's store and ask them to change the owner-of-record.)
