Ringing alarm/reminder cannot be stopped

I've had this scenario occur a few times where something is running in the foreground (such as an audio playback), but then a reminder is triggered. The reminder (or alarm) has NO POPUP, and continued ringing, but there's no visible running app to stop. I've had to restart the phone when this happens. Once, while the reminder/alarm was ringing, I tried quickly setting a new reminder, and when the NEW reminder started, immediately the ORIGINAL reminder's sound stopped, and the previous process (audio playback) continued.

This has happened before, not just when there's a foreground audio playback that's pre-empted by a reminder. In other cases, the phone in my pocket starts a reminder ringing, pulling the phone out of my pocket (clearly touching the screen), then the remjnder/alarm continues to rung with no visible process to stop.

Is there some way to stop an ongoing reminder/alarm ringing in the foreground when there is no visible reminder showing? This is really distressing in the middle of Walmart shopping when I can do nothing but reboot the phone to stop the noise.

You can try to clear the app data for the clock and alarm app on your phone assuming that that's the one that's triggering the alerts. What phone ?
