LG G3 Lag. The truth?

Asphalt,Need For Speed, Infinite Flight. I watched a comparison Erica Griffin did on YouTube of an S805 QHD S5 Prime V the G3 S801 QHD playing a game and the G3s frame rate was poor compared to the 805 QHD. I'm coming to the conclusion the GPU doesn't have enough to power the QHD display :-(

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. I know benchmarks don't mean much but its getting scores on my phone lower than G2 and similar to the Galaxy S4.

Answer: Willful Ignorance
Willful ignorance is the state and practice of ignoring any sensory input that appears to contradict one’s inner model of reality. At heart, it is almost certainly driven by confirmation bias.
Depending on the nature and strength of an individual’s pre-existing beliefs, willful ignorance can manifest itself in different ways. The practice can entail completely disregarding established facts, evidence and/or reasonable opinions if they fail to meet one’s expectations. Often excuses will be made, stating that the source is unreliable, that the experiment was flawed or the opinion is too biased.

I don't understand why people say they see no lag or frame rate drops. It takes a couple seconds to load messages. Scrolling through sites, messages, call history, etc shows stutter. Its definitely more noticeable than it is on the Nexus 5 and S5.

I love the phone and its not a deal breaker for me.

I tried the G3, S5, and M8 again briefly today, and the M8 is certainly smoother, but to be honest I'd say the G3 and S5 were pretty much on an even par. Of course how a phone performs new can be very different to how it performs after a couple of months.

What I will say though is that I actually much preferred the screen on the S5. Maybe its because I use an S3 at the moment, but when the 2 were put side by side, apart from the size, the S5 was the one I preferred, which to be honest I wasn't expecting.

Either some people want to ignore the lag, stutter and bugs or LG have some serious quality control problems with some phones being OK and not. What's interesting is that there's lots of threads like "turn off animations", "switch to ART to make it smoother"and "install nova". This suggests theres issues.

I've used all 3 phones m8 is smoothest but it's not as quick as the G3 HTC has sense set up for smoother rather than faster moto x also set up that way. Nova has a smoother setting also.

From what i know the lag is due to the processor having a hard time running the 2K screen.

I'm not sure about that because the st has more lag than the G3 With less pixels. I think its because operating system is set to go as fast as possible. And if next task is not ready when requested it hesitates.with the M8 HTC has it set to be smoother which allows a little more time to be ready also Motorola did this with droid line. Some launchers do have a smoother setting that will do this also. Which is why so many people claim Nova will get rid of lag. I would agree that the higher Rez screen can't be helping this.

You can download the app "Nomone" from the Play store. This changes the resolution to 1080(not DPI actual resolution). The phone runs cooler and is noticably smoother and less has less stutter.

Wait does thie mean i was right? Lol.

I have not 1 complaint about my G3, fully rooted with custom ROM running fast as ****, stock wasn't bad either, little lag here and there but nothing serious ......definitely a great smart phone

Any lag may be from LG's custom widgets. I think I noticed it a bit when I first got it. As soon as I removed them from the home screen (which I was going to do anyway), no more lag. I currently use the Google Now Launcher and have no noticeable lag.

My AT&T variant was very laggy. I debloated and all kinds of crap. Didn't help. I flashed the int'l rom, and it's very smooth, now. Night & day.

I didn't find the lag to be all that objectionable, but just replacing the stock launcher and keyboard pretty much eliminated it for me.

I have a HTC One M8 and Lg G3 right next to me and performed a few speed tests. Apps open up much faster on the M8 and just navigating menus and recent apps is quicker. That said, if you've never used the M8 you probably won't notice and honestly it's not a deal breaker. Hopefully Lollipop helps in this regards.

I'm also using ART and the lag is still there. Also tried alternate launchers with the same results.

I had a m8 mine was smoother not faster I also had a droid Maxx which was smoother they slow everything down to eliminate the lag effect. Also I'm on Verizon who's last update seemed to make everything smoother. My G3 has almost no signs of lag . I've not found a phone with no lag at all yet. But I Will keep trying

So applications opening faster is just HTC making things smoother? What are you on about? It's quicker at basically everything. What exactly do you consider lag if not something like the application tray taking an extra beat to open after touching the icon?
