LG G3 Memory card problems

This problem is driving me insane! I've had my LG G3 for a week now. The selling feature for me was the 128GB micro sd card option. Shortly after I got the phone, I bought a 128GB card on eBay. It arrived a few days ago. Right after I got it is when the problem started. I tried moving files from my phone to the card. But then I noticed my files disappearing on the card. So I tried a smaller 64GB card to see if the 128GB was faulty. Neither of the cards have worked. I've done everything possible like reformating, erasing, restarting my phone, using a different card. None of these options have worked. Am I I missing something?

Re: Memory card problems

That's strange, I wonder if you could find a really small card? Perhaps it's a bad slot? Dust stuck in there? Hmm..

Re: Memory card problems

I transferred everything on my old 32 to the PC. Then dumped all of that to the new 64 gb card mounted in the G3. Took a couple of hours but no problems. Sandisk class 10.

Re: Memory card problems

Hi,

I am thinking about getting the G3 and am concerned about this issue. This phone has only 23 GB of useable storage, so I know I will need more storage for Apps & music that I need for my job. I would like to know if this phone can handle the load of work. Can this phone play music from the SD Card easily without changing phone settings that makes it impossible to use the decdicated phone memory for Apps like youtube that I cast to TV and a timer at the same time. I have great WiFi.

It might be a awful lot to ask from a phone but someday it may happen. Maybe the G3 can do it!

Thanks

Re: Memory card problems

I have used a 64GB and a 128 GB from eBay with no problems. As I recall until I downloaded the LG SMARTWORLD software nothing seemed to work right.

Re: Memory card problems

I bought a cheap no name class10 128gb card for $14.50 shipped and had no problems. Only thing is when in settings and I select storage it doesn't show anything on the card, however the stock file manager see's everything on it.

I ve had the same problem with three different LG models to include the G3. I love LG phones but I think it's a bug the have. I wish they would fix it.

I have had 4 different 128 gig cards, all of which I've reformatted at least twice. I've done a factory reset on my phone, and it did not fix the problem. Verizon sent me a new phone., They might as well have saved the postage, because it did the same thing.
What's happening is, I'm losing files copied to the SD card. Some files refuse to copy (particularly large video files; I have some movies on my phone, currently in internal memory, which seems stable, but is limited to 32 gigs), while others will copy, but then seem to become corrupted after a while and won't play. Plus, file manager seems unable to see anything on my SD cards. I can make a directory for the files, copy what files will copy into it, then back out, come back a moment later, and file manager shows nothing on the card. Nothing. At all. As I said, I've had no less than 4 such cards, two phones, and at least two factory resets per. Nothing seems to work. I am left with 32 gigs of RELIABLE memory, and that isn't that much, compared to what I should have.
