LG G3 touscreen has long delay?

My phone recently got a dead spot on the top of the screen and it doesn't let me access the notification bar. This wouldn't be too bad except the entire screen now has a crazy long delay. I have to hold down on the screen for two seconds in order for me to touch anything. I heard that leaving my phone off for a week or two can fix this?

Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! How old is the phone? It's probably still under warranty, so I'd probably start talking to LG about warranty repair. In the meantime, you could consider a factory reset, but that's obviously a bit of a hassle.
