LG G4: Are you getting one?

How do you like the edge? Love the hardware but hate touchwhiz.

I think it looks cool, but functionally, not sure it is worth the premium over the regular one

Back buttons are superior.

Yep... When I first picked up a G2, I thought the back buttons were stupid and all gimmick. Later on, I bought a G3 and after using it for a little bit, that placement is just so much more natural. I got used to it rather quickly and it took a bit to adjust back.

I adjusted to the back buttons pretty easily and naturally. So much so in fact that when I pick up any other non-LG device, I always try to turn it on by pressing the back or tapping the screen, lol!

Same here. Just a few minutes ago, actually, I accidentally smudged the camera on someone else's phone by trying to lock it that way.

I ogirinally thought I would get the s6. Then I decided I was going to get the g4. Then I wasn't sure which I would get. I think at this point I will give the g4 a try, and if it doesn't knock me out, I will return for the s6.

Sounds to me like you're really just going to try out the G4 and then go to the S6. Just get the phone you really want. If you don't like the phone you really wanted....then you go for the other. ☺

No. I went to look at the s6, and wasn't really inspired by it. Then I started looking at the g4 and really got amped about the camera, which is my main priority for a smart phone. But, after watching some comparisons on youtube of the camera and seeing some camera examples I started to feel like the s6 actually may have the better camera and I started to feel like the g4 was not the way to go. However, I still feel I can't settle for the s6 because the g4 has a much, much better manual camera mode and RAW. I figure that with that manual camera mode and RAW I should be able to get more out of it than the s6. I also don't want to put a rubber on my phone and I feel like the s6 almost requires it.

I think I will try the g4 and see what I can do with the manual camera and the RAW output. If it turns out to be hype, I will go with the g6. I really want the g4 though.

Hey the S6 camera is pretty darn good after seeing Derek's comparison article but I still think that the G4 will be better due to the manual options. Its also on pre-release software. LG might just polish it up in time for release and then we might really see what its capable of! Whatever the case, good luck with your choice!

Yeah, I am pretty impressed with what I have seen from the s6 so far, but am disappointed in the construction of the phone and also the lack of good manual controls and RAW, but there is a rumor that they will implement RAW soon.

I was, but the June release ruined it for me. I was more than willing to get the Nexus 6 or Note 4. I was waiting for the announcment of the G4. Nice phone, equal to any flagship out there. But I'm not gong to wait until June. So its the Nexus 6 or Note 4 by Mothers day. :p

That's what happened with me. I waited for the announcement, but I needed a new phone as soon as possible for an internship. I certainly couldn't wait until June. I went with the Note 4, and I've been very happy! Still interested in seeing how the G4 looks in reviews, though.

Title says it all... Many folks love to speculate, discuss and debate about a device but we also like to see the pouring of support over those who will be picking up LG's latest flagship.

Sound off in the thread below and feel free to mention what draws you to this device.

I have the G3 now and while it has known drawbacks it has made me a believer. I will let the sheep stick with the other flagship phones and just enjoy the wonderfullness that is the LG G series. :)

It just so happens my company got bought out by a partner company and part of the transition is to new cell phone accounts (my employer pays for my cell phone). I am going to switch from my AT&T LG3 to a VZW LG G4.

Being a current LG G3 owner, I'm willing to give LG another go and check out their next flagship in the LG G4.. I'm starting to really like the underdog OEM's today verses Sammy & HTC.

Well said and agree 100%. I can't believe how Samsung continues to have that sorry physical home button and a bezel that sacrifices screen space.

ouch! Secure UK250 straight from their bank account? might be worth it to folks who were going to buy it anyways i guess. but not for those who they are trying to take from Samsung/HTC lol
That's what I was thinking later. I like most had already filled out our other details by registering with this company, so I got an email a day later restating no money would be taken. I would risk £250, and 44 of them will go for free, but I didn't want that money held straight away. I should have tried for it yesterday maybe. Rather it was LG direct though.

I've decided to wait for the Note 5. No QuickCharge, Fingerprint scanner, lower than par speakers, and now some reviews are saying that the leather is wearing off in the corners after a week. I'll pass.

Do you really have a Nexus 5 with touch whiz?
