LG G4 Camera Settings-Megapixel

Hi,

Got my phone today, very pleased so far. One quick question about the camera settings....how do you change the megapixel options for the camera. If I remember correctly on the G3 you used to be able to select between 3MP, 10 and 13.

Cant find this type of setting on the G4.

Could it be the same as the G3 where you can only access the settings menu from the "normal" mode only (not in auto, etc)?

This is one of my fav things they changed with the G4.

You can only choose the aspect ratio and not the MP size. 16 x 9 is a full 16mp picture at 5312x2988. The 4 x 3 option is 12mp at 3984x2988 and the 1 x 1 option is 8.5mp at 2976x2976.

I hated the only way to get 13mp on the g3 was to use the 10mp option. I like taking photos in 16 x 9 format much more since majority of the time we consume our photos thru our electronics like tv, phone, computer, and tablet and the common size nowadays is 16 x9.

The native format on the g3 is 4:3, which is why it takes full resolution pics in that format. 16:9 zooms and crops, which is why you only get 10MP.

Yep. I believe the native for the G4 sensor is 16:9.

The nativeaspect ratio of a dslr is 3:2 (full frame and cropped), and a mirrorless 4/3 camera is 4:3 of course.
