This is a helpful suggestion, not a complaint. If your LG G4 is overheating (may apply to other models) read on....
About a year ago I bought an LG G4 (AT&T) and it didn't take long before I noticed that it was abnormally warm. I'm not a gamer (unless Solitaire counts) and mostly I use it for news, messaging and email. And photos. Several friends also had LG G4's and they too had the same complaint. One woman even told me she had to change to another brand because her's ran so hot that it damaged the memory (this is anecdotal so I can't verify). I will say that my phone at times ran HOT! Doing an internet search for overheating LG G4's turned up several sites offering their "expert" remedies, typically beginning with re-booting the phone or uploading some app that presumably reduced battery drain or downloading all sorts of "performance increasing" apps (which also come with bloatware!!!). I'm not saying that there might be some performance issues that add to the problem but here's what I found after I solved my problem and checked with other LG G4 users.....
It's amazing that almost everyone had no idea what the little square in the lower right corner of the screen was for other than showing them all the apps they had on their phone. They had no idea that it wasn't an app inventory but in fact was an indicator that all those apps were running in the background. Now granted some of them don't consume a lot of current but together they put a healthy drain on the battery - hence HEAT!
Most importantly, only one person had ever hit the "CLEAR ALL" button - which closes all those constantly running apps - and hence stops the battery drain!!!
SOOOOO, if your phone is overheating, before you reboot or pay for some totally useless software - hit CLEAR ALL and see if your problem goes away. Just my two cents worth.
