I'm currently in Bangkok on vacation.
I brought my Sony a6000 with me but decided to leave it in the hotel to see how the G4 holds up as my primary camera.

Here are some night shots. I'm seriously impressed with them.

Some extras including a pretty large Samsung phone store and 4 Vertu handsets.

This is my first shared pic, but I took this tonight, and liked it.

I forget which mode this was taken in (I think Manual, but I took a bunch), but I appreciated what Manual lets me do. I can focus at infinity, use AE-L to expose for what I want, then re-frame the picture. Nice.

Some more shots of Bangkok.

Seriously, this phone packs a serious punch in its camera.

A 4K video sample will be up soon. All I can tell you is that the footage is crispy and rock-steady.

So what do you think between LG G4 vs the A6000, I know it's complete differents devices, but LG G4 is way smaller and compact ! Did you use tripod with LG G4 at night shoot ?

I have an a6000 and really, they are not comparable at all. a6000 can yield virtually noise free pictures at 3200 ISO shoot usable pictures at 12,800, has seriously huge advantage in dynamic range, has much better control of depth of field, not to mention all the perks of physical control dials, interchangeable lenses and flash mounts etc.

Graffiti in Atlanta. Zoom, in low light, through a pane of glass.

As the owner of the a6000, I agree.

The G4 is a wonderful phone with a wonderful camera, but you can't compare it with a proper professional camera as those cameras can utilize many different types of lenses and have larger sensors that capture more light, which also results in less noise due to the lower ISO needed.

One thing I can say is that the kit lens of the a6000 is a bit of a potato. It's alright for general photo-taking but it doesn't show the true potential of the camera.
