Looking to get a replacement battery. I see on ebay they have 5000 to 10000mah.

Will those batteries last longer and give me more time and are they legit or false?

Or shall I just buy another oem?

I would stick with the OEM. Some of the larger batteries I've got in the past, though 50% to twice the size, did not give me 50% to twice the battery length.

I prefer to get 2 OEM & have a charger & keep a spare or 2 with me.

Also, I have used other batteries, not OEM, that did not last as long & ended up swelling.

Wow so according to what AccuBattery tells me I have 37% and 1,121 of 3,000 mAh. That's pretty bad. I just bought this battery last year from Amazon because the original one died.

Now it's got me thinking what in the heck is causing these batteries to kill themselves.

I'd assume I should get more then a year out of them?

I only play 2 games and my screen brightness I only use when typing and browsing. Other times I tone down to 20%

I go into the battery settings and make sure no other apps are not running. But wow 1,121 @ 37% where the heck did it go.

Its a OEM and not a off brand one.

Any ideas???

I just put in the order for 2 OEM batteries and a charger. Now kinda glad I looked into this and ordered those.

I've given up about batteries lasting forever. I see people running around always charging their phones or connecting them to a backup battery & now having to hold 2 things. I use the phone as I like & when it gets down to around 30% I swap in another battery & continue on with life.

I carry 2 batteries with me in a small leather coin purse. I usually only go through 2 batteries in a day - but just in case, I have another as a backup. At night I put the batteries in the chargers & in the morning I'm ready to go (I happen to have 2 chargers & my wife has one. Years ago when our son was with us we had 3 phone's & he had a charger - I have his now).

Batteries lose their power after time. I use to not charge my phone at night & simply pull that battery out in the morning & put it in a charger. Now I charge my phone while I sleep & have 1 or sometimes 2 batteries charging up in the chargers.

The G4's are great phones. I've moved to the LG v10 which came out 6 months after the G4's. I have our 3 G4's as backups & can move back to them in a moment. Although I wish my G4's or v10's could take better pictures - I'm not interested in paying the price for new phones. Except for our sons first v10, I bought all of our G4's & v10's used.

My philosophy in purchasing technology is: "Buy yesterday's wow at today's low price." Both the G4 & the v10 were flagship phones. They worked great then & still work fine today!

Wow, you haven't been hit with the bootloop issues with those? Those phones were great, but plagued with widespread bootloop problems due to a design flaw with some soldering. You should play the lotto!

As to the problem at hand, batteries don't last forever, and those batteries are no longer in active production (OEM or otherwise). Any "new" battery you buy today would have been sitting on a shelf for years, causing it to be degraded before you ever insert it. I wouldn't count on any of them to be good at this point.

Mooncat - no I definitely should not play the lotto! We got our son his v10 in December 2015, two months after it was released. Seven months later, while we were driving from AZ to IL for him to go to college, it boot looped. We didn't know what that was and neither did very many other people. He missed being able to play his play list as we traveled across the country. We went to a T-Mobile store and one came in after 3-4 days (it was still under warranty). The new one bootlooped again within a week. He got another. And I believe that one bootlooped too within a short time. He bought a cheap LG phone as a back up to use while that one was being returned and another one shipped.

I can't remember how long that one lasted, but it did and during that time I picked up a used one. He got married and his wife got a used one. My wife got one of theirs when they switched to iPhones and to make a long story short, we have 2 working v10's and one in a drawer bootlooped. We've been using these v10's for 2 years now without problems. It looks like LG got the problems fixed - but I have my G4's ready just in case.

Another reason I shouldn't play the lotto is - twi of my G4's bootlooped. It wasn't as common for the G4's but it did happen to a few - I guess I was one of the lucky ones. One of the G4's was under warranty and they sent me another one - and one I sent in and they said it was no longer under warranty and it would cost me $80 or more - which was almost what I could buy another used one for. I did and it worked great.

You're right on the batteries. It is too bad that the industry has gone to non replaceable batteries in the cell phones. My son-in-law had a v10 (that's how my son's got her v10 - he gave her one of his), then a v20 and then a v30. He has gone to Galaxy 10 plus, but he misses many features of the LG phones.

I got my 2 spare batteries and my charger in today..
When I plug one of the batteries into the charger without plugging it into the wall the charger goes blue.

When I plug it into the wall it goes red. No documentation came with the charger so how will I know the battery is fully charged? I assume it'll go solid blue?

Weird. These new batteries run about 63f and the lg one runs about 93 to 96f. Seems to drain a lot faster. So I've been testing them and the 2 I ordered seemed not to be draining as fast as the old one is.

Both batteries look the same only they don't have the LG logo like my old one.

Battery old or new is horrible on the LG G4, you shouldn't buy anymore accessories for that phone and just update to a newer one. Online has really good deals on the V35 and V40 models right now if you are looking to pay $ 399 and below.

Personally I would go with OnePlus if it's within your budget.

My G4 bootlooped years ago and LG sent me another one. Replaced the whole circuit board inside after the infamous bootlloop issue they were having. Unfortunately that left me with a bad impression so I decided to leave LG altogether.

Went with a Motorola right after that and it had a restart issue as well, the Motorola Z2 Play for Verizon.

Two phones back to back with problems. Similarity between the two were that they were bought from Best Buy. And just in case anyone is wondering I use a case and am very careful with handling my phones.

Now on Verizon Pixel 2 XL and couldn't be happier.

Believe it or not. These new batteries I bought are better then the one with the lg logo on it.

This time trying the other second battery I bought from ebay. This one is running very very cool compared to 90+. These two run in the mid 60s. Plus even though it says 2 hour time, the charge seems to be going down very slow as opposed to going fast with the other one.

Plus I am keep my screen brightness at 40% which help too big time. I am overall happy with the batteries from ebay.

Oh one more thing. I compared the batteries and while both look the same. The new ones I just got. The battery has a nice tight firm fit. It's hard to get the battery out sometimes. The old battery seemed loose and didn't sit flush like this one.

That's great, you got lucky on that battery. Phone takes great photos til this day if it's enough for your needs I would keep it until you feel it's time for the next upgrade.

I'd question if they are reporting the correct temp. Mid 60's would be lower than room temp, which is usually mid 70's. I'm lucky if I see below 80°F when the phone is sitting idle due to ambient temps.
