LG G5 as a replacement for my Galaxy S5, or...?

Do you have a case on your S5? A lot of people with mic issues have found their case to be the culprit. That issue is not limited to the S5, but with a lot of different phones. Have you tried calls without a case (assuming you have one). If you are not using a case, this is obviously not the issue, but I thought I would mention it.

I think this was a Sammy S5 issue. My daughter has an S5 & had voice quality issues. An update dropped for it a few months ago & drastically improved everything including voice quality.... Try updating the device if you haven't already smashed it to bits! Lol

NO. I had a great case on, about 18 months ago, but took it off because of this problem, AND yes, I shut off the noise cancellation, which I was also told might be the problem with this model. I even carefully carved out the mic hole with an Xacto knife. NOTHING has worked.

Updating how? Regular updates have been done. The last update was done March 12th.

I'm on my G5 so I'm not totally sure but from any screen swipe down>settings>general (I think) >about device>software update.......Shazam, you're in. There may not be one but thanks how you manually look for one

Well, picked up my G5 today, after being so angry at the S5 that I could have taken it to the range and used it for target shooting. ( TWO clients today told me that they couldn't hear me on the S5! )

So far so good on the G5. I ran a test with my partner in the library calling me, and she said that it sounded LOUD and CLEAR on regular phone and even more loud and clear on speakerphone, when I switched. Just gotta go through all the hassle now, putting apps on it.

One thing I like about this G5 already, is the on-screen keyboard. The keys on the S5 would make me crazy. They were about 3/32" square and I could never get them right when I typed anything. These are maybe 3 times that size and I can type everything 100% perfectly.

Not to get off topic, but you should try the Swiftkey keyboard. It lets you change the size of the keys (as well as customize other things such as the color/background). I've used it on my Galaxy S5 forever, and I believe I used it on my Galaxy S3 as well. That's my first order of business once I get my new phone.

The Galaxy is history and I love the G5's keyboard! :)

Agreed. I wouldn't have a phone without it! I have it on my G5 & it rocks just like it did on all my Sammy's
