My LG G5 stopped charging after this morning and im pretty confused whether its a burnt port or battery(i dont have 1 year protection so i cant repair it)
Is it because i overcharged it 100% or because i used it while it was charging?
and is the insides or port supposed to smell kind of burned?
thanks for ur help!

Hello. Welcome to Android Central!

I need to understand what's up.

So, your G5 stopped charging this morning for some weird reason and you suspect it's either a battery or a port failure?

This sounds weird.....but have you tried a reboot?

I know this sounds weird, but on my iPad Pro, it just stopped charging out of the blue. After trying multiple adapters, I was about to give up on it, until I tried rebooting it. After that, it charged normally. I know this isn't an iPad or an Apple product, but if you haven't, it's worth a try.

Tried rebooting it , No luck but i think its not my cables problem, when i plug it into my phone it doesnt charge but the port gets hot and gives of a burned smell is my port burned or is it my battery problem?

So, you tried different cables and all, right?

If so, perhaps one of the components in the charging circuitry may have given way. Check with your carrier or retailer to see if you can get it sorted.

Sounds like a short.... could be the in the circuit, your cable or phone port. Try a different cable first if you have one.
