LG G6 and Windows 7

Good evening.

I've had my G6 for about 3 weeks and am very pleased.

When I first started "customizing" I was able to load photos, music, videos, and some files I regularly use by plugging in the USB cord and "dragging and dropping." I tried to add additional information yesterday and Windows 7 will not recognize the phone. It notes the plug in (with an "alert" tone) but will not show the content of the internal drive. I then plugged it into a Dell Venue w/Windows 10 and it was recognized immediately and I was able to drag and drop without issue.

Am I doing something wrong or missing a setting?

Hi wkjambic!

I'd try 2 things here:

1. Does the device show charging only when plugged in to the PC?
2. Have you installed the latest LG drivers for Windows? Usually Windows will auto detect the driver for you, but it certainly don't hurt to try. Here is the link below:

I had this issue as well. Here are the steps I took to fix it:
1. Plug phone into PC
2. Open Device Manager
3. Look for a line that describes your phone, i.e. Samsung Device, Android device, etc.
4. Open up the sub-line, and right click it
5. Click "Update Driver Software"
6. Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
7. Click "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
8. One of the listed drivers will be the correct one, install it.

I apologize for the vagueness of my instructions. I followed some I found online, but can't quickly find them again, so I'm going off memory. My phone is instantly recognized now, and has not given me any problems.
