LG G6 is half the price of Galaxy S8 in Canada. which one should I get ?

Galaxy s8 is > $1k CAD dollars in Canada.

I already pre-ordered Galaxy s8 plus which is around $1.1k; but local carriers offer $510 CAD dollars for LG G6 with no term.

Should I go for LG G6 then ? It is dirty cheap!

It's subjective. I personally think it's a great phone. It would have been better if they kept the 32 bit DAC.

Which Canadian carrier are you with? Also, with regards to what someone stated about the G6: everyone's needs and experiences with smartphones are subjective. What may be awesome to one user could be insignificant or even unnecessary to another. Watch review videos of the G6 and read other reviews to see what you yourself think of the device.

If I had the choice, I'd go for the G6! But, speaking of subjectivity and bias, I had the G3; so I already like the LG experience and would want to get behind this particular device.

Just get lg g6 today... The color reproduction is so bad... And the camera is subpar.

I think it s more like a 2016 mid range phone. I feel downgrade from my galaxy s7 edge. Even my father think it is worse than his galaxy s6 edge plus.

Anyway I will return it and wait for the Galaxy s8 plus. Hopefully local cariers are able to offer some decent discount on s8 plus too .

I end up with 570 after BC tax.

OK to be more clear, LG G6 = $510 plus tax and an old Phone (any used iPhone 4, Nexus 5 and so on works , no matter conditions)

Galaxy s8 = $1030 plus tax

To me sounds like half Price.

Wow. That tells me there is no demand at all for the g6 in Canada. In the US g6 is $650 vs $720 for the s8.

I just read the news on Phonearena, Sprint in states just has LG G6 for 50%. I think LG may permanently cut the price after S8 releases.

I did quite a lot research on G6 yesterday. I believe G6 spec is worse than S7 edge. (screen is worse, storage is slower, SOC is similar, camera is worse, Gorilla Glass 3, usable screen space is less )

What is the actual cost for LG to build G6 ? Maybe less than 50% of Galaxy S8

I may not consider G6 as a flagship phone now.

Well screen is not exactly worse, it's just LG goes with colder white point. I wish they would let us adjust it. Contrast is great 1500:1, blacks are great and no screen bleed.

The black level is decent. The color reproduction is subpar. The screen is not bad. Just not Samsung level.
