LG G6 weather app radar question

My Verizon LG G6 has an odd behavior that other smartphones in my family don't have. Weather apps like Weather Timeline, AccuWeather, and others have radar maps that do not show cities, roads, bodies of water, etc. on my G6. These radar maps all use Google maps as a background for the radar images. Location reporting services such as Glympse that also use Google maps have the same problem. All I get is a blue location dot and a white background. Location services is on high accuracy, all app caches are cleared & device restarted. Has anyone else seen and/or fixed this issue?

I had this issue on my Sprint version but I deleted and reinstalled the app and it starting working

Thanks for the suggestion. It didn't work for me, so I suppose I have a fairly obscure issue. Still, I appreciate your effort.

For anybody who has the same issue, I got it fixed at my local Verizon store after emailing or talking with app developers, Verizon phone tech support, LG, and Google.
It's a setting issue, not a hardware issue. The Verizon rep who solved it can't explain what he did. He simply clicked everything in the settings menu, especially related to location, and just stumbled into the fix.
I thought I had tried all settings but was obviously wrong.
If you need to duplicate the fix, hand the phone to a 3-year-old and just let them play with all of the settings. Seems to be the right method.
